I counted about 450 total lots in my immediate neighborhood (the small circles) and compared them to the footprint of a 673 unit, 40 story building in downtown San Diego (The Square Shape). We used 100% California Native Plants, cobble native to San Diego, mulch from recycled wood clippings, and raw steel to make gabion baskets.  The exhibit received eight awards. What if we never had to see another blank CMU block wall.  This vine is has climbed from the ground and overtaken a vintage neon sign.  If the owners added some galvanized steel wires across the rest of the wall,  they could have a full on green wall.

When you overlay the image of the leaf on top of an aerial photo of suburbia you can see that we are not that different after all.  The fractal geometry of the leaf is strikingly similar to the form we have generated through the creation of suburbia.</p></div>

Six tomato plants, two green pepper, two zucchini, two cucumber.  This project took 1 shovel and five hours of labor (sod removal, soil amendment, Planting, Staking. The colors will help make a transition from the chocolate flagstone to the gray of the pool deck.</p></div>

The steppers act as a transition from the sideyard garden to the concrete pool deck.</p></div>

Instead of throwing away the line, I fabricated a custom fountain that shoots water into the pool.  The fountain does not re-circulate so it will be used as an interesting way to fill the pool when the water level gets low.  The spray jets are very accurate, leaving no wasted water.</p></div>

The design also allows for a new planter bed adjacent to the block wall.</p></div>
